Loveland Academy concentrates on both academic and career skills. It also offers intensive intervention in sensory, motor and communication areas through direct speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and mental health services. Each of these services, individually and collaboratively, is designed to meet the student’s unique needs and to assure each student’s success in his/her life and work experience. An array of different career experiences will be available to each student at a variety of levels depending on the individual student’s abilities, interests, and values.
Loveland Academy's Vocational Training Program was established in 1999. When it obtained CARF accreditation, it became known by the CARF term Employment Services Training Program. Loveland Academy Vocational Training Center’s philosophy is to help clients discover, then utilize, their strengths and interests to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to gain competitive or supported employment, and to live as productive, and enjoyable, a life as possible. Individualized services/supports called Employee Development Services (EDS) assist persons seeking employment to develop or reestablish skills, attitudes, personal characteristics, interpersonal skills, work behaviors, functional capacities, etc., to achieve positive employment outcomes. These services/supports are provided directly to persons who intend to seek employment, but do not yet have the pre-requisite skills. They are lacking the prerequisites to be successfully employed in any job setting.
